Why more car insurance can cost less

The more comprehensive and inclusive your motor insurance, the more it will cost, right? Actually that’s wrong, new research from moneysupermarket.com has shown. It may sound wrong but bear with us – we’ve compared the average costs of almost 1.4million annual car insurance policies and the results are perhaps not what you’d expect.

Many drivers opt for third party car insurance because they think it’s the cheapest option. After all, it offers the lowest level of cover: as the name suggests it only covers a third party if you are involved in an accident that is your fault (it wouldn’t cover any damage done to your own car).

Experts predict an active hurricane season

As if we need another disaster in the wake of the mind-numbingly depressing BP oil spill, experts say this year’s hurricane season could be a doozy. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration scientists predict an “active to extremely active” season, with a 70 percent chance of 14 to 23 named storms, 14 of those becoming hurricanes.
